Lewis and Clark County Detention Center Hosts Walk-In Hiring Event
Published on October 21, 2025
Helena MT – The Lewis and Clark County Detention Center will host a two-day Walk-In Hiring Event on Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark County Library.
This event offers an opportunity for interested candidates to learn more about a career in corrections and to complete an on-the-spot interview—no appointment necessary. Applicants are encouraged to bring a current résumé and be prepared to meet directly with the Sheriff’s Office selection committee.
“Open interviews help us connect directly with people who are ready to serve their community,” said Sheriff Leo Dutton. “It’s a great way for qualified candidates to take the first step toward a meaningful career in public safety.”
During the event, individuals will be greeted by a Sheriff’s Office representative, receive a copy of the job description, and interview on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates will be invited to complete the Detention Officer practical test on-site. Those who pass the test will be guided through the next steps of the application process, including the online application and background check.
The Walk-In Hiring Event is designed to streamline the recruitment process for entry-level detention officer positions and attract applicants who are motivated to begin a career with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
