Sworn Deputy Sheriff
Deputy Sheriffs with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office serve as the front line of law enforcement across the county, working to protect the safety and well-being of residents and visitors. These sworn peace officers are tasked with enforcing local, state, and federal laws throughout the diverse geography of Lewis and Clark County, which includes urban areas like Helena as well as rural communities and vast wilderness.
Deputies perform a broad range of duties, including patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls and service requests, conducting criminal investigations, making arrests, executing warrants, and assisting with traffic enforcement. They also take part in community outreach, work collaboratively with other agencies, and often provide courtroom security and civil process service.
