Jericho Mountain Fire Information

***EVACUATION WARNING LIFTED***

An evacuation warning issued by the Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s Office for Rimini Road and all feeder roads south of Bear Gulch Road in response to the Jericho Mountain Fire is lifted effective Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 1:00 P.M.

There is still an active fire response with heavy vehicle traffic on area roads. Forest closures remain in effect. The public should avoid the area to allow fire crews to work safely.

Thank you to Rimini area residents for their cooperation and patience throughout the fire response.

What to do if you are under an Evacuation Warning

  • Plan ahead
    • How will I get alerts?
    • Where will I go/shelter?
    • What's my evacuation route?
    • What is my family communication plan?
    • Do I have an emergency preparedness kit
  • Pack a “go bag” with essentials such as:
    • Medications or medical devices such as a CPAP
    • Important documents
    • Phone chargers
    • Money/debit cards
    • Clothing and personal items
  • Caregivers should make a plan for older or disabled relatives
  • Prepare your home and property
    • Create a safety zone of at least 30 to 100-feet around your home.
    • Keep vegetation around your living area well hydrated
    • Keep roofs and gutters free from debris
    • Locate utility shutoffs

  • Make arrangements for pets and livestock
  • Be ready to leave if an evacuation order is issued
  • Make a family emergency plan

The decision to issue the warning was based on predicted fire behavior and the limited access along Rimini Road, which is one way in and out.

What to do if you receive an Evacuation Order

  • Implement your family emergency plan and leave immediately. Remember to take your "go bag", pets/animals, and any items you will need while you are away from your home. Once you leave the evacuation zone you will not be able to return until the order is lifted.

  • If at any point, under the evacuation warning, you feel unsafe where you are, leave. You don't need to wait.

  • Evacuation orders are not mandatory. If you choose to stay within an evacuation zone, you will not be allowed to come and go. Stay on your property.
