The Community Development and Planning Department (CDP) is responsible for the coordination and guidance of growth and development through planning, zoning, subdivision review, buildings for lease or rent review, floodplain development, open lands, parks, and historic preservation. Our mission is to provide high-quality service, encourage public participation, improve communication, and utilize clear objectives, standards, and procedures.

Joint Infrastructure - Future Conditions Report

Lewis and Clark County and The City of Helena recently completed the Future Conditions Report, a joint infrastructure study of the Urban Standards Boundary (USB), land that is currently within the county and adjacent to the city limits of Helena, Montana, that is designated as a priority area for future connection to City infrastructure systems and ultimate annexation including both existing and future development.

Subdivision Review

The County is currently preparing updates to the Lewis and Clark County Subdivision Review Regulations. Once the proposed updates are ready to be considered by the Board of County Commissioners, the proposed changes will be posted for public review.
