Lewis & Clark County Noxious Weed Control District

The Lewis and Clark County Noxious Weed District education, enforcement, awareness programs and policies support the State Weed Law (MCA 7-22-21). The District encourages management of noxious weeds on private and public lands, subdivisions, timber harvests and open pit mining within the county. Noxious Weed awareness and education strengthens management, lessens the spread of infestations, enhances land values and protects the environment. Noxious weed management is the responsibility of all land managers.

Mosquito Districts

 

Lewis & Clark County has 2 Mosquito Control Districts; The Craig Mosquito District and the

.

The Helena Valley Mosquito Control District was created in 1976. The district includes the area of Green Meadow Drive, north of Custer Avenue, south of the Lincoln Highway and west of Lake Helena Drive, East Helena, Lake Helena and the County fairgrounds.

General Mosquito Management Policy

The Helena Valley & Craig Mosquito Districts have an obligation to monitor and manage mosquitoes within their district to benefit those paying for the service.

The District will handle complaints and concerns on a case basis when it is brought to their attention.
