Head Lane Bridge Now Open to Traffic

Helena, MT – Head Lane Bridge is now open to vehicle traffic following a complete bridge replacement project conducted by Lewis and Clark County Public Works.

Construction to replace the weight-restricted timber bridge at Sevenmile Creek began on June 25, 2025. The new 54-foot span meets the Federal Highway Administration’s highway loading requirements and has a design life of 75 years.

Lewis and Clark County was awarded a Montana Coal Endowment Program Grant and Senate Bill 536 Grant to complete the replacement project.
