Helena, MT Lewis and Clark County launched an online reporting tool designed to make it easier for residents to report non-emergency infrastructure issues across the county. This new tool will promote effectiveness, efficiency, and reduce duplication of efforts resulting in reduction of staff time and enhanced transparency.

The Citizen Problem Reporter allows residents to quickly and conveniently notify the County about concerns such as potholes, damaged traffic signage, and other issues with county-maintained infrastructure.

“The public are often the first ones to inform us when there is a problem,” said Jenny Chambers, Public Works and Planning Director. “The online reporting portal provides another avenue for residents to report an issue so crews can quickly fix it or clearly communicate the progress.”

Using the reporting portal, residents can:

  • Report damage or issues to County infrastructure, including roads, guardrail, and signs.
  • Pinpoint the exact location of an issue by entering an address or dropping a pin on an interactive map.
  • View issues that have already been reported.
  • Track the progress of repairs or resolutions.
  • Choose to provide contact information or submit a report anonymously.

In addition to improving communication with the public, the portal serves as a valuable data-gathering tool for the County, allowing Public Works to track the types of requests received and the number of issues addressed.

Lewis and Clark County reminds residents that the Citizen Problem Reporter is for non-emergency issues and service requests. If you have an emergency, please call 911.
