Helena, MT — Lewis and Clark County will begin a sidewalk and street replacement project on the east side of the Lewis and Clark County Courthouse on July 6, 2026. The project includes removal and replacement of the sidewalk along the east side of the courthouse and a section of Ewing Street. Construction is expected to be completed by August 14, 2026.

During construction, Ewing Street will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Broadway Street and Fifth Avenue. Courthouse operations and services will continue as normal throughout the project. The courthouse's east entrance will remain the primary public entrance and can be accessed via a temporary pedestrian pathway connecting the north sidewalk to the east entrance.

Parking is available in the north courthouse parking lot accessible from Fifth Avenue. Patrons attending events at the Myrna Loy Center may use the northeast parking lot located at the corner of Breckenridge Street and Ewing Street.

Visitors are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow all posted construction signage and pedestrian detours while the project is underway.

Lewis and Clark County appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during construction.
