Public input is sought through a number of meetings held by various Boards, Committees, and Commissions.
Board of County Commissioners
The Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) consists of three elected officials, each representing one of three Commission Districts. The BoCC generally holds public meetings in Helena every Tuesday and Thursday, in Lincoln on the first Friday of each month, and in Augusta on the second Friday of each month, for consideration of a variety of planning-related items.

County Consolidated Land Use Board
The County Consolidated Land Use Board (CCLUB) is a volunteer board consisting of five members appointed by the BoCC, each serving a three-year term. The CCLUB functions as three separate boards: a Planning Board (PB), a Zoning Commission (ZC), and a Board of Adjustment (BOA), and all CCLUB members must reside within its jurisdictional area, as provided for in 76-1-114(4)(a), MCA. The role of the CCLUB, when acting as the PB, is to ensure the promotion of public health, safety, morals, convenience, order, or the general welfare, and its duties include holding public meetings for the consideration and recommendation of items to the BoCC regarding the adoption of growth polices, initial adoption of Part 2 zoning regulations and classifications, review of major subdivisions and any associated variances, adoption of subdivision regulations, review of parks requests when associated with major subdivisions, and provision of comments regarding conservation easements. The role of the CCLUB, when acting as the ZC and BOA, is to provide equality and flexibility in the implementation of Part 2 zoning. The duties of the CCLUB, when acting as the ZC, include holding public meetings for the consideration and recommendation to the BoCC of amendments to Part 2 zoning regulations and classifications. The duties of the CCLUB, when acting as the BOA, include holding public meetings for the consideration of Part 2 zoning appeals, Conditional Use Permits, and variances.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&ZC) is a Board consisting of all three County Commissioners, the Clerk of District Court, the Treasurer/Clerk and Recorder, and two volunteer citizen members appointed by the BoCC, with each citizen-member serving a two-year term. The P&ZC meets for consideration and recommendation of the following Part 1 zoning-related items on an as-needed basis: Conditional Use Permits, zoning variances, appeals to interpretations made by the Zoning Administrator, neighborhood plans, regulations, and map and text amendments.

City-County Consolidated Parks Board
The City-County Consolidated Parks Board (Parks Board) is a Board consisting of seven members, each serving a three-year term. The Board's mission is to promote investment in the development and maintenance of parks, recreation, trails, and open space, and serves in an advisory capacity to both the City and County Commissions in parks, recreation, and open lands matters. Parks Board members may serve two, three-year terms. Three members are appointed by the City, three are appointed by the County, and one is jointly-appointed representing the school district. The Parks Board generally meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m.

Open Lands Citizens Advisory Committee
The Open Lands Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is a Board comprised of ten members, each serving a three-year term. The CAC generally holds a meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. for consideration and recommendation of Open Lands application requests to the BoCC.
