Tom Rolfe

Tom Rolfe is a Montana native who has lived in Lewis and Clark County since 1989. Tom graduated from Bozeman Senior High and received a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing from Montana State University. He has been married for over 40 years to a fourth generation Montanan, the former Judy Fisher of Butte. Tom and Judy have three children who all graduated from Helena High School. They are a divided family with loyal Bobcats and Grizzlies, so they have learned to disagree without being disagreeable.

After returning from a stint in the U.S. Army, Tom was elected to the Montana Legislature, but becoming involved in a family automobile business didn't leave time for the Legislature, so Tom didn't run for re-election. However, he has always had an interest in public policy.

Tom has served for over 35 years on the Board of Directors of the Montana Taxpayers Association.

He is a 25 year member and former President of the Helena Kiwanis Club.

Tom is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Helena class of 2017-18.

He has helped to raise money for numerous causes and groups including: Kiwanis, Algeria Shrine children's transportation fund, Lewis and Clark Red Cross, Helena chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), and Gideons International. Tom and Judy are members of Life Covenant Church.

Tom started selling cars to help pay his way through college and continued for most of his life to be in the automobile business. In Lewis and Clark County, he worked for Grimes Motors, Helena Auto Center and Helena Motors and he is a past president of the Montana Automobile Dealers Association.

He was elected to a six year term as Lewis and Clark County's first “non-partisan” County Commissioner in 2020.
