 Prisoner Extraditions and Transports

The prisoner transport and extradition staff is comprised of one sworn deputy and a detention officer. The deputy and detention officer are responsible for coordinating prisoner transports and extraditions in and out of the State of Montana, Lewis and Clark County. They handle all prisoner transports to and from detention centers, the Montana State Prison, Montana State Hospital, inmate medical appointments, and other facilities.

The average number of transports total per year is about 590 and the average number of extraditions per year is about 35.
