Healthy Communities Coalition (HCC)
What is the HCC?
The Healthy Communities Coalition (HCC) is a Chronic Disease Prevention Coalition in Lewis and Clark County that has been meeting since 2014. It is a group of health advocates -- a variety of community organizations and members that work together on policies, programs, environmental change, and systems change. The HCC meets quarterly and their four workgroups meet monthly.
What are the key values of the HCC?
Vision: A community where people are empowered to make healthy choices.
Mission: To work as a diverse team of health advocates to improve health and well-being in our community through education, motivation, policy development, and creative partnerships.
Values: The Healthy Communities Coalition’s key values are:
- Equity and Social Justice
- Reliance on science and stories
- Focus on long-term impact
HCC Meeting Schedule
The coalition meetings meet on the 2nd month of the quarter (August, November, February, May) and on the 3rd Wednesday.
Healthy Communities Coalition Workgroup Schedule:
Environmental Quality Workgroup: Second Tuesday of the month from 11:00am-12:00pm.
Food, Nutrition, and Physical Activity Workgroup: 3rd Monday of the month from 9:00am-10:00am.
Aging Well Workgroup: 4th Wednesday of every month from 10:00am-11:00am.
Mental and Social Wellbeing Workgroup: First Thursday of the month from 9:00am-10:00am.
