Citizen Survey Results
The County updated the 2004 Growth Policy focusing on four key issues facing citizens in the Helena Valley: water, wastewater, roads, and fire protection.
In spring 2014, the Community Development and Planning Department mailed out over 10,000 surveys to property owners in the Helena Valley focusing on these four key issues. Almost 3,000 surveys were completed and returned. The citizen survey is a key part of our efforts to give every resident and property owner an equal opportunity to have a voice in the outcomes of this planning process.

Summary results of the citizen survey.
The citizen survey included an open ended question inviting comments and over 1,000 comments were received.
If you didn't receive or complete the mail survey, you can take a web version of the survey. You can review the informational brochure and presentation below prior to taking the survey:

In addition to sending out the citizen survey, the Community Development and Planning Department and the Helena/Lewis and Clark County Planning Board hosted four open house meetings throughout the Valley in May of 2014. These open house meetings were an excellent opportunity to meet with County planners to learn about the issues and provide valuable input on the policy direction of the County.
