To Obtain Copies from The Clerk of District Court

All Copy requests must be by written request. The fee is $1.00 per page up to 10 pages and 50 cents per page thereafter. Copies of Divorce Decrees are $10.00 for a regular copy, $12.00 for a certified copy. Please include the following information on your request, if it is available:

• Case number
• Names of Parties; either both, the plaintiff(s), or the defendant(s)
• Should your request be for a case filed prior to 1993, please provide the year that the case may have been filed along with a range of dates to search.

To Obtain Searches from The Clerk of District Court

All search requests must be by written request. The fee is $2.00 per year, per name up to seven years, and $1.00 per name per year thereafter. Please include the following information on your request:

• Name of the party(ies), including aliases
• Number of years to search
• What kind of case, (i.e. criminal, probate, civil, etc)

Written requests can mailed to PO Box 158, Helena MT, 59624, please include payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Requests can also be faxed to 406-447-8275, or emailed to cpotuzak(at)lccountymt.gov  To pay by credit or debit card, please include your phone number on your request as we will call for card information. (There is a processing fee for all credit and debit card transactions.)
